Brief Bio

Babucarr Ceesay graduated from Fatima High School in Bwiam in 1995 after sitting to the “O” levels. He has worked at the Documentation Unit at the African centre for democracy and human rights studies and also at the medical research council at the London school of hygiene and tropical medicine as a clerk.  With a passion in journalism and inspired by Mr Robeiro, a veteran journalist in Guinea Bissau, he met in 1999, Babucarr left MRC in 2002, to study in the United Kingdom, where he obtained a diploma in Media production at Lambeth College and another diploma in television presenting at London Academy of Media Film & Television. He also trained television presenting at The Television Training Academy and Aspire Media School in the United Kingdom. He joined QTV in 2018 as a reporter and presenter. He has skills in filming and video editing. This he demonstrated in 2019, 2022 and 2023, when, he was assigned to cover the pilgrimages in Makkah in Saudi Arabia. On Both occasions, he went alone and successfully executed the role of cameraperson, editor and reporter. Currently, Babucarr Ceesay is the deputy head of news at QTV Gambia.
